Western Australia comprises the entire western
part of the continent. It is bounded on the
north, west and south by the Indian Ocean. From
big ancient forests in the South to vast dry
deserts in the east, huge crashing swells in
the west to big fat gold nuggets in the North,
Western Australia is the land of adventure.
Western Australia is the largest state of the
commonwealth, but only its southwest corner
is fertile and substantially settled; the rest
is arid and scarcely habitable.
The state boasts the stunning gorges and National
Parks of the tropics, the wonderful beaches
of Broome, the famous dolphins of Monkey Mia
and spectacular inland wildflower shows.
The climate is tropical in the north and temperate
in the southwest.
Perth, the capital of Western Australia, is
situated on the Swan River, and has all the
modern conveniences.
